    What is Realmslore?

This section is for specific canonical references and discussion. As Realmspace is a massive in its size and scope, use this section to make connections that others might not see.

One important aspect of canon is the ability to reference specific material. When posting, please included references to the information. Here is an example:

Waterdeep was founded by local tribes who benefited from trading timber and furs with southern merchants, and the settlement's deep harbor gave the city its name. [[Greenwood, Ed (January 1993). Volo's Guide to Waterdeep.]]

Creating citations for responses from game designers posted to forums spaces online gives me fits.

FYI I found a website that makes creating citations easy. It's http://www.citationcreation.com/mla/website.html.

Here's an example of a citation made by that website (MLA format), using information from a response by Ed Greenwood on the current "Ask Ed" page on the Candlekeep.com forums:

    [[Greenwood, Ed. "Questions for Ed Greenwood (2013)" forum.candlekeep.com. 24 January 2013. Candlekeep. 24 January 2013 <http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17385&whichpage=7#412658>]]

The only thing I had to add were the brackets ([[ ]]) and tags to underline "forum.candlekeep.com".

I'll probably not include the second date (that's the date the article was accessed) since the first date (which indicates the day an article--or in this case, a forum post--was created) is all that's necessary.

Realmslore is a lot like a fractal: the thinner you slice it the more details you get. This is why there are no absolutes in the Realms.

Taking a stab at policies and procedures for collecting Realmslore.

    Why so serious?

Read on and tell me what you think.

(Please see the Policies and Procedures page on the wiki.)

Yay? Nay? Too much smack talk?

    Tell me what you think.
