I've only tinkered with it, but I feel it will be a coveted product in the end. There's already a ton of functionality.

Once it gets the ability to import from the CB and MB, then it will be quite attractive to people and will make a DDI subscription a heck of a lot more attractive. The ability to drag and drop monsters and characters directly from one tool into another will be awesome.

I agree! If they had something like that, this product would be unbeatable.

For me, it is important that WotC develop the VT not with a view to compete with MT, FGII or any of the other tools out there. That's a tail chase, and them are long. Instead, WotC needs to take advantage of what none of the others can do. Interface with the other tools.

If all people had to do was open a menu item, scroll down and choose their character, and all of the powers, as well as a token (perhaps contest winners get unique tokens??), holy crap is that easy.

If all a DM has to do is open a menu item and drag and drop, while watching the XP budget being counted, as well as a listing of how many artillery, soldiers, etc s/he has listed...

If (and we are entering wish zone here for me) you could purchase (micro-transaction style) pre-made "dungeons" already populated with encounters.

    Awesomesauce!!

Yep, that was my thought as well. Considering they control the IP, they would dominate. Anyone is free to think what they will, but that would be a powerful combination and one that would make my virtual gaming very convenient--something no other product has done.

That's been my opinion since I first looked at it. Once it's integrated with other tools, and can import map images or has a larger selection of tiles, it'll be a killer product.

I don't think two weeks will be too egregious a reanimation of a thread.

That's Trevor's announcement that the integration features will be in testing Real Soon Now.

I have monkeyed with several of the virtual tabletops products out there and I think that my time is better spent writing a great, engaging adventure than building dungeons with them. I have to agree though if this connects to the monster builder, character builder, or compendium and allows drag and drop for super ease then the projector will get set up at the game table more often. If a picture is worth a thousand words then a 3-D dungeon should be worth 1,000 to the third power words, which i don't know what that is but I am sure it is a huge .
