Magic the Gathering Innastrad Pre-Release tonight at midnight

I am pretty excited about this, my first MtG pre-release midnight event. To top it off I still have to run my Star Wars game in the morning so yippie! Nerd Rage it through the afternoon tomorrow.

I went to a midnight prerelease yesterday as well. No good pulls, unfortunately. What I did get was a rather good UW cardpool full of nice low-cost fliers/human tribal/a couple nice zombie bombs, some decent equipment and some removal/card draw/counter. I went 3-2(2-0, 2-0, 0-2, 2-1, 1-2) and finished 8th. Lost to the guy who got 4th in the final round, but his prize packs sucked anyway so I didn't feel bad. It was kind of odd to play UW Aggro, since it's traditionally such a control color combo these days, even Caw-blade, but it was also really fun. The guy sitting next to me in registration order just after me opened a Snapcaster Mage and I was jealous, the table also had a Skaab Ruinator, a Garruk Relentless and a Geist of Saint Traft. Ahh, if only.

Some lucky punk opened a Snapcaster AND a Liliana of the Veil. He also came in last, but given that he basically doubled his entry fee, he wasn't too upset. :P

But yeah, all in all it was incredibly awesome for me. It was one thing to curbstomp a couple of noobs and then make perfect plays vs a good player the time I went 3-0 and came 3rd in a Standard tourney, but coming in 8th in a Limited tourney, and having a chance for 4th, was awesome. New Phyrexia was just bad(Terrible card pool bad unfun deck, disappointing finish), M12 was fun but with a bad result(23rd of 24) even though I got a couple good rares and had *two* fun decks, but this was a combination of a fun deck and doing well for the first time, so it was really a great feeling for me and I was super-happy.

I went 1-2 (2-0, 0-2, 0-2) then I dropped. I think he best card I got was Geist of Saint Traft then a lot of cards that will let me make some pretty decent standard decks. All and All it was ok.

A liliana and a Garruck were pulled.
