    synDCon II Feedback: Registration System

We're very proud of the improvements we made going from synDCon 2010 to synDCon II: Part Deux, but we know we can do better. Please provide your feedback on this thread's topic. Don't be afraid to tell us what we did wrong -- we want to improve -- but don't forget to tell us what we did right -- we don't want to change that.

Please note: This is a polite forum. Criticism is greatly encouraged. Flaming will be met with violent spell-casting.

We had several registration system woes this year. Our first system went unstable after a server switch. Our replacement was good but lacked several needed features. Accordingly, we'll be designing our own registration system from the ground up over which we'll have complete control. This is a major undertaking that may not be ready for the next convention. With that in mind, we need to know which existing systems you prefer, and what you'd like to see in our new system. We've tested out Warhorn.net, Consupport.com, ConPlanner.com, and Supersaas.com. We've recently been pointed to EventBrite.com but know nothing about it. If you have any insight on that site, please let us know.

    Registration system

I liked the colors and the calendar layout, but reading the event details was difficulty. Also, the site didn't organize similar games next to each other.

The main thing I'd recommend, particularly for organized play campaigns, is a way to publicly list character information. It helps immensely with preparation (I GMed a few tables) and marshaling.

Al, can you expand on the list character information part. I'm not sure I'm understanding what you'd like to see.

    Thanks,
