I am in the discussion phase with some of my local gamers to do a convention here locally. (Humboldt County, Ca. to be exact) We have a decent gaming community, there is even a game guild at Humboldt State University, so there is some knowledgeable people around here. For obvious reasons, it's been my suggestion to have the con focus on Independent Publishers and Game Companies rather than the "Big 'Uns". This met with positive reactions, but I was curious, since we are a bit off the beaten path, would people and companies be drawn to something like this? I know as a self publisher, I am on a very tight budget, everything comes from my personal income so I like to make it count as much as possible. (knew I wouldn't get rich doing it, but don't want to go broke either) My thinking is this: independently we are only as "loud" as the people listening to us, but as a collective we could reach a huge following. Spreading the word of something like this to each of our followers could make it a worthwhile event. My question to you is, would you be willing to participate either as a fan or as a company (want to hear both sides)? Let me know here in the post or personally through email (jeffgupton@blackbyrnepublishing.com) And to clarify, I'm not only talking about RPG companies, board and card game companies as well (like DungeonCrawler.com, check out that game, it's a blast!)
Thanks in advance!
Greetings. It appears you have not registered with the keeper of records.
