Favorite Traditional Spell in D&D?

Charm Person without a doubt. It is insane to think about the two trolls you kept charmed for weeks at a time in earlier editions. I would feed them each other and they would just regenerate back all the damage. Not really a problem to make sure to charm them again before a fortnight has passed. Troll lackeys for all I say, charmus besticus.

Always love the ubiquitous nature of Charm Person which could be more than a combat aid but help cut back on lengthy diplomatic chats with angry barbarian chiefs and Magic Missile is always a must. For me Deep Pockets has come in the most useful time and time again when the wizard has stumbled onto a huge horde and the bloody rogue of the party has mislaid the bag of holding.

I've always liked the multiple effects of the various "prismatic" spells, with prismatic spray being my favorite.
