Todd, I replied to your email regarding the sample cards. Looks good! I tweaked some styling but that was about it.

Another option to think about is making these work as tented cards. That way the DM can hand them out to the player during the mod and it can serve as a reminder (or warning in the case of "Dangerous Companion") that the player has some form of bonus/penalty going.

Did I try to hide where these came from? I listed the website and article where the they came up with the idea. Do I believe that a good idea is a good idea? Of course.

What is so wrong with this?

some more ideas:

I'm too old for this s**t - you fail at least two physical skill checks (athletics, acrobatics, or endurance) during the same skill challenge. You gain a +5 bonus to your next History, Insight, Arcana, or Nature check.

I cheated off the smart guy - you critically succeed at a skill check in which you are not trained. You gain a +2 bonus to your next skill check.

Ooh, pretty lights - you critically fail when rolling initiative. You are so distracted away from combat that you gain a +2 bonus to saving against the next charm or illusion effect cast against you.
