So, what other types of RPGs do you play? I've played countless RPGs but the ones that always crop up are:

Star Wars Saga
Vampire
L5R
Exalted

I've never played Legend of the Five Rings. I know it was HUGE in the pre-Wizards industry. Can you offer me a (short) explanation of what makes it different? It sort of feels like a more realistic version of Exalted to me.

In my 25+ years of gaming, I have played/GMed:
D&D, from 1e to 4e
Star Frontiers
Top Secret
Beyond the Supernatural (one of my favorites from Palladium, though the system tanks)
Rifts
HERO/Champions (4e to 6e)
GURPS (3e - 4e)
TimeLords (BTRC)
Millennium's End (Chameleon Eclectic, still one of my favorite games)
Morrow Project
Call of Cthulhu (Chaosium, haven't done the d20 version)
Hackmaster
Star Trek (FASA)
Twilight 2000 (both editions)
RECON
Cyberpunk 2020
Shadowrun (not the latest edition, I think)

I would like to try The Dresden Files, since I bought the books and am a huge fan of the book series. I have quite a few other games in my library at home, but those are the big ones that I remember playing and liking.

Sometimes it's hard to think of what I have left on my gaming shelves, especially when I'm posting whilst not at home (down in VA on holiday) and can't peruse the bookshelves.

Unfortunately due to the impossibility of blasting anyone I know out of their D&D rut, the only game other than D&D I've actually gotten to *play* is Shadowrun. There's a bunch I want to try though.

As pfloyd, I've played a reasonable spread in the nearly three decades I've been playing:

D&D, in all of its incarnations except 3.5.
Paranoia
Call of Cthulhu
Warhammer
Lord of the Rings (the system that was based on Rolemaster)
Various White Wolf World of Darkness - my favourite being Mage
MechWarrior
Babylon 5
Amber diceless
Star Trek (FASA)
Star Trek (Last Unicorn)
Star Wars (can't remember which version)
Tunnels and Trolls (the guy who ran this is a trained actor and a storyteller; needless to say it was great)

I've made up characters for

EverQuest RPG (OGL, based on SRD)
Lone Wolf RPG (also OGL based on SRD)
Twilight 2000
Shadowrun (a character I based on the protagonist of the novel The Shockwave Rider)
Traveller (various types)
Space Opera (I still want to play a full campaign of that)
Teknum (a sci-fi home-brew system that's more than a bit silly)
Chivalry and Sorcery
GURPS (I think it was modern)
Prime Directive (I think the original version)

Some of the games on the latter list I really hoped for the campaign to get off the ground, ie Shadowrun and Traveller.

Over the last few years it's been exclusively D&D 4E, with fillers being various board and card games - the most enjoyable of which has been Dominion.
