For all things Gen Con!

Who's going? What are you looking forward to?

I'm going. My DM from a PbP I've been in for a while is going, so we're gonna try to meet up. Will undoubtedly cosplay as an elf again. Will probably spend half my time in pick-up games of Magic: The Gathering. :P

Everyone stalk Matt. This is a requirement.

I'll definitely be going. I'll be getting into some Living Forgotten Realms and Shadowrun Missions adventures with a couple Savage Worlds one-shots thrown in.

Of course a block of time for oogling the stuff in the vendor hall is a must as well.

Dude I can not wait to get there and have some fun. I have a few D&D board game events, I think it will be cool!

I will be sitting on the panel for the D&D R&D Monster Design Live seminar on Thursday. It is from 2:00-4:00. Stop by, say hello, and create a fan-section for me. Bonus points if you bring pom-poms and "I love Matt James" t-shirts.

Can it be "I like Matt James" t-shirts? I do not want anyone getting the wrong idea

If you played at Matt James campaign, we'd make sure that you got a "Jackhole DM" shirt. It's our way of showing appreciation for all the jackhole moments that Matt has put us through.

Ohmygodsoexcitedisitnextweekyet. :D :D :D

I'm actually playing in a couple of games this year, including one for a system that isn't D&D, and I've volunteered to run the Neverwinter Game Day adventure Saturday night and Learn-to-play D&D Sunday morning. :D

Now to hope all the stuff for my costumes gets here in time. And that walking five blocks in the heat and mugginess does not kill me while wearing all black, a wig and body paint all over my face and neck. >_>;

But yeah. *boing*.

Gen Con was amazing. Even if horrible blisters did kill my costuming plans. :< Sadface. Also I barely saw that turd Matt James and was forced to stalk Erik Scott de Bie instead. (Sorry Erik.)

It was great meeting some people I'd previously only known from online and seeing people I've met before again. Had a lot of fun playing games(LFR and The One Ring) and running them(Neverwinter Game Day and Learn-to-Play D&D). Seminars I went to were similarly fun, especially Spin a Yarn and the informal Candlekeep seminar afterwards. The D&D Live seminar was hilariously funny, and both my phrase slip and my equipment slip got used. ("Drizzt just grabbed my ass", shamelessly stolen from Matt James, and "Vorpal Gelatinous Cube") Then I got stage fright like a dork. XD D'oh! Finally came to the realization that my normal D&D group really sucks and I need a new one after another attendee at a panel compared it to dating. Which, yeah, I wouldn't date someone like these people, so why the hell am I spending my one night a week gaming with them? Then I ran the Neverwinter Game Day, which was fun. Also ran Learn-to-Play D&D the next morning, which I really enjoyed. I love new players. I love sharing this crazy thing I enjoy doing with people who haven't been exposed to it yet. :D

Spent way too much money, but picked up some magic cards I hadn't been able to get locally, The One Ring RPG, a bunch of dice and a Shadowrun t-shirt.

Is it next august yet? :D

today at the store before encounters those of us who went to Gen con told tales of our adventure like the good bards we are (not really) and we lamented an ode to Gen con 2011 and began the ritual to bring Gen Con 2012 to us sooner rather than later.
